The Effects of Temperature on Car Batteries

It is vitally important that you have a good battery in your vehicle. If the battery is run down or old, your vehicle may not start properly. One thing that can cause a battery to deteriorate is extreme temperatures. Extreme cold and heat are the enemies of your car's battery.

When it is very cold outside, your battery can be drained of power quickly. It is harder to start your car in the cold weather, and the battery has to work harder to get your motor to turn over. In the summer time, the extreme heat can have the same effect. The heat can cause the battery to be drained of energy so that it doesn't have enough power to start your car.
